Weekends at the beach are typical fare for many Americans. I grew up going to the lake or grandma’s pool, but I certainly understand the appeal of the beach. I actually prefer both of those to beaches, but there is certainly something special about piers and boardwalks and little shore towns.
Tomorrow, I’ll be exploring some of Jersey Shore, between Seaside Heights and Egg Harbor, since I have a party to attend for a friend up there. I’m excited to see a new place and hope to have stories to share after my trip.
If you’re hitting the beach this weekend, enjoy. If not, here are some picks from National Geographic Traveler of American beach towns to visit. I particularly appreciated Boca Grande being on this list since that’s my favorite Florida beach.
