I don’t know about you, but there are certain movies I want to watch at particular times of year. “You’ve Got Mail,” is one of those movies for me. Autumn rolls around and in addition to apple picking trips and eating all the pumpkin things I want to watch Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in this adorkable rom-com.
I’m going to attribute the seasonality of it to this line by Hanks’ character, Joe Fox, who writes: “Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms.”
Instead of rushing out to buy myself a bouquet of pencils I’m off to NYC this weekend to soak in as much autumn splendor as possible.
